L’Église Saint-François
Elle porte le nom de Saint-François de Sales, évêque d’Annecy, qui a fondé à Lyon son premier monastère de la Visitation et y a publié, en 1615, son «Introduction à la vie dévote». Lancée en 1807, la construction de cette église s’est achevée 30 ans plus tard avec le dôme et une façade monumentale. La rue Auguste Comte, créée au début du XIXe siècle, rassemble de nombreux antiquaires et commerçants d’art.
St Francis’ Church
Construction work on this church started in 1807 and was completed 30 years later with the dome and a monumental facade. The church bears the name of St Francis of Sales, bishop of Annecy, who founded his first monastery of the Visitation in Lyon and published his «Introduction to Devout Life» here in 1615. Rue Auguste Comte, created at the beginning of the 19th century, is notable for its many antique shops and art dealers.
