Église Saint-Bruno
Établis ici, au-dessus de la ville, en 1584, les Chartreux construisirent une église en deux étapes : le chœur (1590-1604), puis le transept et la nef (1735-1750 par Ferdinand Delamonce). L’église, ornée d’un décor exceptionnel, constitue le plus bel ensemble baroque de Lyon. On y remarque notamment le baldaquin de Jean Nicolas Servandony (1738). La façade, par Sainte‑Marie Perrin, date de 1868-1872.
Saint Bruno’s Church
Carthusian monks established themselves in this location, above the city of Lyons, in 1584. They built here their church in two steps: first the choir (1590-1604), then the transept and the nave (1735-1750, under the direction of Ferdinand Delamonce). The remarkable decorations of this church make it the finest example of baroque architecture in Lyon. Of particular interest is the exceptional baldachin (canopy) above the altar, by Jean Nicolas Servandony (1738). The façade was built by Sainte‑Marie Perrin between 1868 and 1872.
