Maison Tolozan
Le plus imposant des immeubles d’habitation construits à Lyon au XVIIIe siècle, édifié vers 1740 sur les plans de Ferdinand Delamonce pour Antoine Tolozan, riche négociant en soierie, dans un style apparenté au baroque. À proximité, entre le quai Lassagne et la colline, le quartier Saint-Clair, créé à partir de 1754 par un groupe d’investisseurs réuni autour de l’architecte Jacques Germain Soufflot, appartient à l’art néoclassique.
The Tolozan house
This was the most imposing of town houses built in Lyon in the 18th century. It dates back to 1740 and was designed by the architect Ferdinand Delamonce for Antoine Tolozan, a wealthy silk merchant, in a style similar to the Baroque style. Nearby, between the quai Lassagne and the hill, the Saint-Clair district, which was built as of 1754 by a group of investors working in collaboration with the architect Jacques Germain Soufflot, is a typical example of the Neoclassical style.
