Le Petit Collège
Ici se trouvait une annexe du Collège jésuite de la Trinité (actuellement lycée Ampère), implantée en 1630 grâce à une dotation de la famille de Gadagne, installée à proximité. Le père La Chaise, futur confesseur de Louis XIV, a été recteur de ce Petit Collège. Le bâtiment actuel, construit en 1730 autour d’un vaste escalier à quatre noyaux, abrite aujourd’hui une annexe de la mairie du 5e arrondissement.
Petit Collège
This is the former location of an annex of the Jesuit Collège de la Trinité (now the Ampère High School) which was established in 1630 thanks to an endowment from the Gadagne family who lived in the neighbourhood. Father La Chaise, later to be Louis XIV's confessor, was rector of the Petit Collège. The present building, constructed in 1730 around a vast four-newel winding staircase, is now an annex of the fifth district Mayor’s offices.
